The Dimming Light by Grace Cole

I was helping mum to find some poems when i came across this beautiful poem.
Hope you guys like it too.

Clear my mind, take all my worries away
You don't have to hurry, just please stay
Take away the noise and these city lights
I'll be okay as long as you hold me tonight
My problems leave me drowning in a sea of dread
So many complications, hurtful words said
You come along and make them all disappear
Don't have a care as long as you're here

I breathe you in like a smoke running through my lungs
I'm addicted to your love and I can't get enough
Lie down with me and carry me safely away
Just take this dimming light and turn it into day

With you I feel like I can really be myself
Because you don't let me worry 'bout anything else
I just lean back and drink this moment in
As you leave all the bad crashing to an end

I breathe you in like a smoke running through my lungs
I'm addicted to your love and I can't get enough
Lie down with me and carry me safely away
Just take this dimming light and turn it into day
Your touch is like warmth running wild through my veins
One look from you and I knew I'd never be the same
Hold my hand as you carry me safely away
Just take this dimming light and turn it into day

So make the party lights go wild
With those big brown eyes and that smile
And make me forget why I came here
When you extinguish all of my fears
